Senior Data Engineer (Financial Services)

Location: Boston, MA, United States; hybrid schedule with four days in the office and one remote day per week

Salary: USD 90,000–180,000 per year, plus potential variable compensation and benefits.

What you will do

• Design, build, and scale data-driven solutions for science analysts, particularly in equity research.
• Develop and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines and data workflows using orchestration frameworks such as Airflow or AWS Glue.
• Build, deploy, and test cloud-based data solutions on AWS.
• Implement modern data architectures using platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, or Microsoft Fabric.
• Debug, optimize, and performance-tune high-volume data pipelines.
• Collaborate with data scientists, researchers, and business partners in an Agile environment.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience.
• Strong data science experience and programming skills in Python, with experience using SQL.
• Experience with data modeling, data warehousing, data governance, and metadata management.
• Proficiency with AWS services, especially S3, Lambda, and Batch.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, Git-based workflows, Docker, and modern software engineering practices.
• Ability to independently drive solutions from development through deployment in fast-paced, mission-critical environments.
