Senior Data Engineer (AI)

Location: San Francisco, with hybrid attendance at the SF office 3 days per week

Salary: $200,000–$250,000 per year, excluding equity and bonus targets

Builds an AI intelligence platform for healthcare that provides real-time, coding-aware clinical documentation and workflow support across ambulatory, emergency, and inpatient settings.

What you will do

• Build and operate pipelines that ingest, validate, and transform clinical and operational data at scale.
• Design governed metrics, analytical schemas, dashboards, and self-service analytics for technical and non-technical users.
• Develop file-based ingestion workflows with automated validation, triggering, and error handling for external data sources.
• Implement data validation frameworks using Python or TypeScript and transformation layers with SQL and dbt.
• Support secure and scalable data infrastructure through warehousing, Dagster orchestration, governance, and RBAC.
• Partner with engineering, product, clinical, and go-to-market stakeholders to turn raw data into reliable decision-making insights.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in a production Data Engineering role.
• Hands-on Snowflake experience, including data modeling, performance tuning, and warehouse administration.
• Strong SQL and Python skills, with experience building ETL/ELT pipelines, data lakes, or warehouses in modern cloud environments.
• Knowledge of data validation, schema design, scalable architecture, and production pipeline observability.
• Ability to communicate clearly, gather requirements, and work with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work in a hybrid arrangement from the San Francisco office 3 days per week.

Nice to have

• Early-stage startup experience.
• Experience in regulated industries such as healthcare or finance.
• Familiarity with dbt, Airflow, Dagster, Looker, Tableau, or Mode.
