Sr. Underwriter/Account Executive Officer-Financial Institutions Property & Casualty (Financial Institutions P&C)

Location: St. Paul, Minnesota, United States; regular in-person meetings with agents and brokers and travel are required.

Annual base salary: $109,300–$180,200, plus eligibility for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What you will do

• Manage profitability, growth, and retention for an assigned book of moderately to highly complex accounts.
• Underwrite and negotiate complex customer accounts to minimize risk and maximize profitability.
• Execute underwriting strategies and develop agency sales plans aligned with regional and group objectives.
• Build relationships with agents, brokers, and internal partners to market products, retain accounts, and identify cross-selling opportunities.
• Identify new business opportunities using consultative marketing and sales skills.
• Train and mentor less experienced underwriters.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Four years of experience in underwriting, product knowledge, financial analysis, or risk assessment.
• Five to eight years of applicable underwriting experience preferred.
• Deep knowledge of insurance products, the regulatory environment, and local insurance and surety markets.
• Strong critical thinking, risk analysis, communication, negotiation, coaching, and mentoring skills.
