What you will do

• Evaluate and select risks within assigned authority limits to support profitable acquisition and retention of business.
• Conduct risk assessments and confirm that business guidelines, target profit, and performance metrics are met.
• Analyze risk trends and recommend actions to address them.
• Consult with sales and service partners, brokers, and internal stakeholders on products and plan options.
• Maintain knowledge of products, plan designs, pricing, contractual benefits, sales, implementation, enrollment processes, and market influences.
• Support training, technical development, and mentoring for junior underwriters.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant business experience.
• Consistent proficiency at the Underwriter level.
• Strong technical expertise in risk selection and knowledge of product provisions, plan designs, pricing, and contractual benefits.
• Understanding of top-line and bottom-line objectives, sales and distribution processes, and market trends.
• Strong analytical reasoning, critical thinking, communication, organization, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively while taking ownership of results.
