What you will do

• Market and underwrite new large, loss-sensitive accounts with premiums exceeding $350k.
• Quote, accept, decline, and modify business within established authority limits.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends and make sound underwriting decisions.
• Partner with internal stakeholders and field staff to enhance service for agents and insureds.
• Conduct agency and customer visits across the assigned regional territory.
• Provide technical support and training on products and tools to field staff and agency partners.

Requirements

• Must be based in NC, VA, SC, GA, KY, TN, or AL.
• Minimum 3 years of commercial underwriting experience.
• Minimum 2 years of field underwriting or insurance marketing experience.
• Valid state-issued driver’s license required for regional travel (approx. 20% of time).
• Proficiency in desktop tools, automated underwriting systems, and email.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and critical thinking skills.

• College degree.
• Completion or pursuit of professional designations such as INS, AU, CIC, or CPCU.
