TL;DR
Systems Engineer III (Aerospace): Designing and developing complex spacecraft and payload systems across requirements derivation, verification and validation, integration, testing, and launch with an accent on requirements management, system architecture, and payload-to-bus interfaces. Focus on leading subsystem engineering, coordinating customer-facing SRR, PDR, and CDR reviews, and ensuring traceability and compliance throughout the product lifecycle.

Location: Louisville, Colorado; must be local to the work location. Flexible for occasional telework.

Projected annual compensation: $88,289.08–$153,517.58.

What you will do

  • Perform systems engineering throughout the product lifecycle, from customer requirements derivation through design, verification, validation, integration, testing, and launch.
  • Derive, manage, and trace requirements across complex space systems, subsystems, and components.
  • Design and evaluate end-to-end system architectures and translate product strategies into system and implementation requirements.
  • Author verification and validation methods, procedures, test plans, and related documentation.
  • Lead a dedicated subsystem and manage payload-to-bus interface control documentation.
  • Prepare and drive customer-facing SRR, PDR, and CDR design reviews and participate in risk and configuration control boards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant engineering field with 5–7 years of experience, or MS with 3–5 years, or PhD with 0–2 years of professional systems engineering experience.
  • Experience with systems engineering development methods for complex product architectures and high-reliability space and aerospace applications.
  • Experience supporting products through all development phases, from requirements derivation through sustainment.
  • Experience with aerospace requirements management tools such as DOORS, Jama, or similar.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance.

  • Experience developing architectures for national defense, NASA civil space, and commercial aerospace customers.
