Senior User Experience Designer (Fintech)

Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota; employees work in the office at least four days per week, with flexibility to work from home one day per week.

Base salary: $107,000–$147,100 per year, plus potential variable compensation and benefits.

What you will do

• Manage user interface design during project implementation, including wireframes, mockups, and other UX deliverables.
• Contribute to project strategy, UX concepts, research plans, and design approaches.
• Present design concepts and research-backed rationale to product development teams and stakeholders.
• Translate business and user requirements into UX/UI documentation, specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Conduct competitive reviews, heuristic reviews, surveys, click studies, card sorting, and usability testing; author and present research reports.
• Lead workload management, knowledge sharing, hiring, coaching, and performance management for the UX function.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and 5–7 years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency in user-centered design, information architecture, interaction design, visual design, web best practices, and design fundamentals.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain creative concepts and design rationale.
• Proficient prototyping and mockup skills, with experience using industry-standard tools such as Photoshop, Adobe Creative Suite, or Sketch.
• Ability to work across waterfall and Agile project processes.
• Valid U.S. work authorization is required without current or future visa sponsorship needs.

Nice to have

• Certified Usability Analyst certification.
• Experience with complex websites, software applications, application ecosystems, and transactional or complex interactions.
• Experience leading one to three UX professionals or other direct reports.
• Knowledge of usability testing, research methods, project management, and business process management.
