Project Manager (EPC/CCGT)

Location: On-site in Louisa, Kentucky, United States; work may also take place at AEP offices, power plants, and construction sites. Travel is typically 25% or less, with short periods of up to 50%.

Base salary: $137,000–$208,000 per year, with the stated compensation range of $136,539.00–$208,565.50.

What you will do

• Plan, coordinate, execute, monitor, control, and close complex EPC and combined-cycle gas turbine projects.
• Manage project plans, schedules, budgets, staffing, funding, cost controls, and reporting.
• Lead safety processes for employees and contractors, supporting a Zero Harm working environment.
• Communicate project and outage status through planning meetings, stakeholder presentations, and written reports.
• Build relationships with plant personnel, customers, contractors, vendors, suppliers, regulators, and project teams.
• Provide expert guidance, training, risk management, process improvement, and accountability across project activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, business, computer science, or a related field plus 10 years of qualified experience; alternatively, an associate’s degree plus 12 years or a high school diploma/GED plus 14 years.
• Expert-level experience in project management, major construction, estimating, project controls, project engineering, or comparable production environments.
• Mastery of construction safety, negotiations, scope control, cost estimating, contracting, quality control, risk management, and project reporting.
• PMP certification is required unless waived by the organization’s SVP or operating company president.
• Valid state driver’s license and ability to perform light physical duties, including construction site walkdowns, ladder climbing, and work around hazardous conditions.
• Ability to work at power plants, including nuclear facilities, and construction sites under varying conditions.

Nice to have

• Three years of experience as a Project Manager Principal or demonstrated equivalent competencies.
• Experience in utilities, commercial nuclear power, and/or IT systems.
