Heavy Equipment/Diesel Mechanic

Location: Port Sulphur, Louisiana, United States; onsite with rotating work schedule

What you will do

• Diagnose, dismantle, repair, and test heavy equipment, including cranes, loaders, dozers, wheel loaders, forklifts, and excavators.
• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot diesel and gas engines, electric motors, generators, hydraulic and pneumatic attachments, control systems, fuel systems, and brake systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance, equipment servicing, lubrication, fueling, fluid checks, and daily inspection reporting.
• Inspect guards, bolts, safety devices, and equipment condition; make adjustments and verify operational readiness.
• Use cutting torches, welding equipment, forklifts, hand tools, power tools, and electric meters while working from blueprints, sketches, or verbal instructions.
• Respond to equipment emergencies, minimize terminal downtime, and follow safety, environmental, regulatory, and company requirements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 1–3 years of mechanical maintenance experience; experience with heavy equipment is a plus.
• Experience with dozers, wheel loaders, forklifts, and excavators, plus the ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to work onsite in all weather conditions, climb ladders and stairs, work at heights, negotiate uneven surfaces, and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work overtime, respond to call-outs, work shifts exceeding 12 hours when required, and maintain dependable attendance.
• Must pass a drug screen, background check, applicable clearances, and attain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
