Sr. Building Automation Controls Engineer (HVAC) (Building Automation/HVAC): Maintaining and optimizing campus building automation systems, including Metasys monitoring, maintenance, modifications, and expansions, with an accent on energy conservation, operational reliability, and regulatory compliance. Focus on analyzing complex control sequences, coordinating construction and maintenance projects, troubleshooting technical issues, and commissioning new systems.

Location: Memphis, Tennessee, United States; onsite facilities and mechanical equipment room work required.

Salary: $78,000–$139,360 per year.

What you will do

  • Operate, monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain campus building automation systems in peak operational condition.
  • Oversee Metasys BAS operations, preventive maintenance, inspections, testing, work orders, and CMMS effectiveness.
  • Recommend equipment and control modifications that improve energy conservation, efficiency, and reliability.
  • Review designs and manage BAS modifications, additions, expansions, construction, renovation, commissioning, and training activities.
  • Coordinate with facilities managers, contractors, consultants, building tenants, and maintenance personnel to resolve issues and minimize service disruptions.
  • Identify abnormal conditions and safety risks, conduct quality inspections, and implement system optimization and energy-saving initiatives.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in a related area required; bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Four or more years of relevant experience with a related bachelor's degree, or six or more years with a related associate's degree.
  • Experience analyzing complex control sequences and resolving difficult technical problems.
  • Knowledge of heat transfer, fluid flow, ventilation, steam, chilled water, hot water, humidification, and related mechanical devices.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft software and end-user proficiency in CMMS software.
  • Ability to work onsite in Memphis and perform physically demanding work in mechanical equipment rooms and other hazardous conditions.

Nice to have

  • Experience operating and maintaining building automation systems.
  • Expertise in hospital policies and departmental procedures.
  • Bachelor's degree in administration, facilities management, mechanical engineering, or a related area.
