Controls Engineer (HVAC)

Location: Redmond, Oregon, United States; full-time onsite role with travel throughout the continental US estimated at 20% annually

Salary: $77,789–$105,244 per year

What you will do

• Create PLC-based controls programs for HVAC equipment production orders.
• Remotely and onsite diagnose programming and controls issues with field service technicians.
• Assist with programming PLCs and DDC controllers and troubleshoot PLC programs.
• Work with sales engineers to design low-voltage DDC/PLC control systems, including P&ID drawings, points lists, and sequences of operation.
• Prepare as-built documentation, installation and operation manuals, and system parameters.
• Support equipment commissioning, manufacturing-floor testing, R&D projects, and system validations.

Requirements

• At least two years of experience in controls programming, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to program, commission, and troubleshoot PLC-based controls.
• Experience with DDC/PLC programming languages and AutoCAD platforms.
• Knowledge of HVAC system concepts, equipment, and terminology.
• Ability to read and translate electrical schematics and communicate effectively with customers and field technicians.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in manufacturing conditions involving seasonal temperatures, dust, and some chemical fumes.

Nice to have

• Working knowledge of mechanical systems, HVAC, and building automation.
