Temporary Customer Service Professional I

Location: Remote opportunity for candidates in Washington, Idaho, Oregon, and Utah; the posting also lists Salt Lake City, UT.

Starting pay: $19.00–$22.25 per hour, depending on experience and location. This temporary role is non-benefited.

What you will do

• Answer incoming calls from members, providers, and current or potential subscribers on recorded lines.
• Provide accurate, compliant guidance about health insurance benefits, claims, and eligibility.
• Research complex questions and identify appropriate answers or support.
• Adapt communication to each caller’s needs while providing empathetic customer service.
• Identify potential issues proactively and prioritize caller satisfaction.
• Collaborate with colleagues, use feedback, and continuously improve service skills.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least six months of customer service call center experience, or six months of customer service experience in insurance, retail, banking, hospital, medical office, or a similar customer-facing environment.
• Proficient PC skills and the ability to navigate multiple applications while handling calls.
• Ability to apply mathematical concepts and calculations.
• Strong multitasking, problem-solving, decision-making, patience, resilience, and communication skills.
• High-speed wired internet and a private, distraction-free workspace are required.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of medical terminology and coding.
• Experience with AI tools and technologies for productivity and decision-making.
