Director, Software Engineering (Salesforce)

Location: Hartford, Connecticut, United States

Annual base salary: $139,400–$230,000, plus eligibility for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What you will do

• Lead the design and implementation of enterprise-scale Salesforce solutions using modern architectures, microservices, and API integrations.
• Set technical direction, platform best practices, quality standards, and development lifecycle improvements for Salesforce initiatives.
• Partner with business stakeholders to translate requirements into effective Salesforce implementations aligned with business objectives.
• Establish automated testing, CI/CD deployment pipelines, application monitoring, and continuous performance optimization.
• Mentor engineering team members, lead proof-of-concept efforts, and communicate technical decisions to developers and executive stakeholders.
• Own critical Salesforce projects from conception through delivery while tracking solution impact through data analysis and performance monitoring.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, a related STEM field, or equivalent education and/or work experience.
• At least 6 additional years of software engineering experience building enterprise applications, with demonstrated Salesforce expertise.
• Experience implementing Salesforce solutions with modern architectures, microservices, and API integrations.
• Proficiency in Salesforce development lifecycle practices, Apex tests, Lightning testing, CI/CD deployments, and application health monitoring.
• Experience designing technical solutions, making platform decisions, partnering with business stakeholders, and mentoring engineers.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, collaboration, documentation, and continuous improvement skills.

Nice to have

• Salesforce Platform Developer I/II or Application Architect certification.
• Commitment to obtaining relevant Salesforce certification within the specified timeframe.
