Infrastructure Architect – Database & Storage (Healthcare)

Location: Hybrid, three days per week in the office at offices in Burlington, Renton, Spokane, Vancouver, Portland, Medford, Salt Lake City, Boise, Lewiston, or Fargo. Candidates must live within commuting distance or be willing to relocate.

Salary: Infrastructure Architect I expected hiring range of $114,000–$143,000 in Oregon, Washington, Utah, and Idaho, or $113,000–$150,000 in North Dakota. Infrastructure Architect II expected hiring range of $140,000–$175,000 in Oregon, Washington, Utah, and Idaho, or $130,000–$171,000 in North Dakota.

What you will do

• Lead the architectural vision and technical strategy for resilient database and storage infrastructure across cloud-native, on-premises, and hybrid environments.
• Design transactional databases, storage architectures, performance tiers, encryption, backups, and disaster recovery with defined RTO and RPO targets.
• Establish high-availability, fault-tolerance, replication, immutability, cyber-vault, ransomware recovery, and failover standards.
• Implement observability and automated telemetry to identify performance, availability, integrity, and operational risks.
• Develop capacity forecasts, reference architectures, technology roadmaps, and modernization plans for database and storage platforms.
• Provide architecture governance, design reviews, project oversight, and alignment with enterprise architecture and information security teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
• At least seven years of IT experience and at least two years of technical leadership and architecture experience.
• Infrastructure Architect I: at least three years designing complete systems solutions in complex environments. Infrastructure Architect II: at least five years.
• Experience with complex systems integration, large-scale problem solving, solution architecture, and writing code to solve technical problems.
• Knowledge of ArchiMate and TOGAF, or equivalent architecture frameworks.
• Strong communication, negotiation, leadership, decision-making, and stakeholder-influence skills, including the ability to lead multiple product teams.

Nice to have

• Advanced degree in a relevant field.
• Experience in the health insurance industry, including payer-oriented processes and systems.
