Senior Manager, Strategic Planning & Operations, Inflammation Research (Biotech)

What you will do

• Partner with the VP of Research and the Inflammation Leadership Team to define and track therapeutic-area strategy, goals, priorities, and operating mechanisms.
• Translate strategic priorities into measurable goals, action plans, milestones, KPIs, and accountability frameworks.
• Coordinate portfolio governance, decision forums, dashboards, risk assessments, reporting, and follow-up on leadership decisions.
• Advance technology, AI, computational, and innovation initiatives supporting research strategy, portfolio execution, and scientific decision-making.
• Lead organizational effectiveness, change management, talent planning, capability-building, and high-priority operational improvement projects.
• Coordinate budgeting, resource planning, headcount management, talent processes, executive presentations, business reviews, and strategic communications.

Requirements

• Doctorate degree and 2 years, master’s degree and 4 years, bachelor’s degree and 6 years, associate’s degree and 10 years, or high school diploma/GED and 12 years of biotech/pharma-related management, project management, or strategic operations experience.
• Experience in strategic planning, portfolio management, governance, operations, budgeting, resource planning, and performance management within an R&D organization.
• Scientific credibility and ability to synthesize complex scientific, operational, and business information into actionable recommendations.
• Experience leading and influencing cross-functional teams in a global, matrixed, rapidly changing environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including executive presentations, governance materials, business reviews, and strategic communications.
• High proficiency with Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Smartsheet, collaboration tools, data visualization tools, and AI-enabled productivity or knowledge-synthesis tools.
