Associate Director, University Center (Event Operations and Student Services): Leading reservations, event planning, facility operations, student employee supervision, and University Center programs at Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi with an accent on complex scheduling, client coordination, safety, and service delivery. Focus on managing event operations, administering Mazevo reservations and billing, developing student staff, and supporting strategic planning and emergency preparedness.

Location: Corpus Christi, Texas, United States; on-campus role with a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends

Salary: Up to $65,000 annually, approximately $5,416.67 monthly.

What you will do

  • Lead University Center reservation operations, policy application, complex scheduling, and event planning support.
  • Coordinate event services with health and safety, IT, custodial, facilities, parking, and other campus partners.
  • Serve as the campus lead for Mazevo, including reservations, billing coordination, software updates, and support for facility managers.
  • Supervise, interview, hire, train, coach, and evaluate approximately 10–16 student employees, as well as event staff and graduate assistants.
  • Support departmental operations, budgeting, revenue targets, strategic planning, reporting, compliance, and special projects; act as director when needed.
  • Develop University Center promotional activities, website and social media content, and student programming calendars.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Eight years of progressively responsible experience in a student union or center; a relevant master’s degree may substitute for two years, and a doctoral degree may substitute for four years.
  • Advanced experience administering Mazevo or EMS and using room diagramming software such as Prismm, AllSeated, or Social Tables.
  • Experience supervising and training student employees, providing customer service, resolving conflicts, and managing complex assignments.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office Suite skills and strong written, verbal, interpersonal, and organizational communication skills.
  • Ability to work on campus in Corpus Christi and maintain a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree in higher education, communication, leadership, or a related field.
  • Experience supervising full-time professional employees.
  • Experience designing leadership training for professional staff, student leaders, or student employees.
  • Experience managing high-visibility, high-impact, or high-risk facility events.
