Datalinks Test Engineer - Mid-Level

Location: Eglin Air Force Base in Valparaiso, Florida, United States; onsite and not remote. Travel is required to contractor facilities, test sites, and other CONUS and OCONUS locations.

What you will do

• Plan, coordinate, document, and brief test events and equipment architectures for voice and data communications.
• Execute test procedures, collect data, and perform data reduction and analysis against technical performance criteria.
• Author and review test plans, concepts of operations, test cards, data-analysis plans, and formal reports.
• Support program offices with technical requirements, operational requirements translation, and capability-related decision making.
• Coordinate test resources, schedules, personnel utilization, meetings, and program documentation.
• Present program activities, findings, and recommendations to test communities, program offices, and senior personnel.

Requirements

• Must be a United States citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline and 3–10 years of relevant experience; additional relevant experience may substitute for education.
• Engineering or technical experience with tactical data links, data link radios, radio-frequency propagation, or computer networking.
• Experience executing test scripts and procedures, developing block diagrams, collecting data, and preparing post-test analysis and reports.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, document-authoring experience, teamwork, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to travel and lift 50 pounds unassisted.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Link 16, SADL, JREAP, networking protocols, Wireshark, tcpdump, Windows, and Linux.
• Programming or scripting experience with C++, Java, Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Experience with cloud platforms, hardware integration, electronic test equipment, MATLAB, Simulink, MBSE tools, or protocol analyzers.
• Knowledge of Agile or Waterfall methodologies and Department of Defense and Air Force test instructions.
• A current and active Top Secret clearance and a Bachelor of Science in a technical field.
