Test Engineer (Network Testing)

Location: 100% onsite in Lexington, Massachusetts, United States; must live within 100 miles of Lexington. Limited case-by-case remote flexibility may be available, but there are no regular remote days. Active Secret or higher security clearance and US citizenship are required.

What you will do

• Integrate and test software components in a testbed for space network field experimentation.
• Test containers, custom programs, and graphical components within the testbed.
• Develop, execute, and document test plans for advanced network and communications systems.
• Build regression tests and automated test frameworks.
• Perform API testing and integration, including RESTful APIs, gRPC, and YANG models.
• Support hardware-in-the-loop and software-in-the-loop testing, packet analysis, and network performance evaluation.

Requirements

• Active Secret clearance or higher; US citizenship required.
• At least 5 years of experience with Git, TCP/IP, routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF, scripting, and packet analysis tools including Wireshark and tcpdump.
• At least 3 years of experience with network segmentation, network virtualization concepts, Linux, regression testing, and automated test framework development.
• At least 3 years of experience developing, executing, and documenting test plans.
• At least 1 year of experience with API testing and integration, including RESTful APIs, gRPC, or YANG models.
• Experience with Python and Bash or shell scripting.

Nice to have

• Network simulation or emulation tools experience.
• Knowledge of network orchestration, automation frameworks, and software-defined networking.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Ansible or other configuration management tools.
