Mission Planning Software Test Engineer - Fighter Weapons - Senior

Location: Eglin Air Force Base, Florida, United States; 25% CONUS/OCONUS travel required.

What you will do

• Provide mission-planning domain expertise and serve as a final authority on software testing and deployment.
• Plan, coordinate, monitor, and evaluate tests for mission-planning software used with fighter aircraft and weapons.
• Establish test criteria, assess program effectiveness, and investigate unusual testing conditions and technical issues.
• Evaluate proposed test methods from an operational fighter perspective and make recommendations to program leadership.
• Perform and support unit, integration, system, acceptance, and other operational testing activities.
• Attend design reviews, qualification tests, and program meetings, including CONUS and OCONUS travel.

Requirements

• Active Secret security clearance required; ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret clearance.
• U.S. citizenship required.
• Extensive experience with Air Force, Navy, or Marine Corps mission-planning systems and manual mission-planning procedures.
• Operational experience as a pilot or Weapon Systems Officer on the F-15, F-16, F/A-18, F-35, or F-22.
• Military fighter mission-planning experience and experience as a fighter mission commander or weapons-and-tactics instructor, or graduation from USAF Weapons School or the Navy Strike Fighter Tactics Instructor program.
• Ability to lead and direct others, communicate effectively, prepare technical writing, and deliver briefings and formal presentations.

Nice to have

• Technical master’s degree and at least 10 years of work experience; additional experience may substitute for the degree.
• Experience conducting mission planning with the Joint Mission Planning System (JMPS) or comparable systems.
• Mission-planning software test experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
