Salary: $80,353.57–$139,719.26 annually

What you will do

  • Identify, track, and resolve Defense Logistics Agency obsolescence cases supporting submarine periscopes and photonics masts.
  • Expedite procurement, track parts deliveries, and coordinate with vendors to prevent supply chain bottlenecks.
  • Conduct DMSMS analyses and source commercial-off-the-shelf and mil-spec replacement materials.
  • Review bills of materials and technical data packages to identify critical supply chain single points of failure.
  • Collaborate with systems, mechanical, and electrical engineers to validate alternate parts against form, fit, and function requirements.
  • Develop and present tracking metrics, databases, and reports covering expedited parts, end-of-life notices, and supplier lead times.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant US Navy or military logistics experience.
  • 5–7 years of experience with a bachelor’s degree, 3–5 years with a master’s degree, or 0–2 years with a PhD; military substitution requires at least 6 years of hands-on experience.
  • Experience managing obsolescence, DMSMS, and supply chain logistics for military or aerospace programs.
  • Familiarity with DLA systems, National Stock Numbers, defense procurement processes, ERP, MRP, and supply chain tracking software.
  • Advanced Excel skills, strong organizational and critical-thinking abilities, negotiation skills, and effective written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance; up to 10% travel may be required.

Nice to have

  • Experience with submarine systems, especially imaging systems.
  • Knowledge of the US Navy SUBSAFE program and policies.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, electrical schematics, and mechanical CAD designs.
