Purchasing and Procurement Manager

What you will do

• Plan purchased material requirements based on sales forecasts, customer orders, and target inventory levels.
• Source and purchase raw materials, packaging, components, services, supplies, and finished goods while meeting cost and quality objectives.
• Coordinate suppliers, subcontractors, transportation, production, warehouse, and supply chain teams to ensure timely procurement and delivery.
• Manage international imports with customs brokers, legal support, freight forwarders, and vendors, including classification and marking requirements.
• Lead supplier negotiations, long-term agreements, cost-reduction initiatives, value-improvement opportunities, audits, scorecards, and KPIs.
• Resolve rejected materials and vendor issues, including RMAs, credits, replacement materials, non-conformances, and corrective actions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics and materials, supply chain, operations, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least 5 years of experience as a Buyer/Planner, including purchasing, delivery coordination, supplier development, negotiations, manufacturing requirements, and inventory management.
• Experience with MRP, JIT, and lean manufacturing practices.
• Experience working with foreign suppliers, freight forwarders, import brokers, and corporate compliance officers while complying with US Customs regulations.
• Strong project management and organizational skills, advanced Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel, and the ability to travel as needed.

Nice to have

• CSCP or CPIM certification.
• Experience with Lawson M3.
