Import Manager (Logistics)

What you will do

• Lead the branch import strategy across ocean import, air import, customs brokerage, and order management.
• Coordinate with Sales, account management, product teams, finance, trade compliance, and security on customer onboarding, RFQs, QBRs, service recovery, and business development.
• Maintain operational discipline across documentation, customs processing, clearance, delivery, order visibility, billing, KPI reviews, and exception management.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for service failures, compliance gaps, escalations, missed milestones, and billing issues.
• Manage import revenue, profitability, margins, billing quality, cost control, and loss prevention.
• Recruit, coach, develop, and retain import employees and leaders while promoting effective use of systems, dashboards, reporting, and automation.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in freight forwarding, import operations, customs brokerage, order management, logistics, transportation, customer service, or supply chain.
• Leadership experience managing teams, customer requirements, compliance expectations, and cross-functional execution.
• Strong knowledge of import operations, customs clearance, customer SOPs, service provider coordination, controls, and financial performance.
• Strong communication, escalation management, customer relationship, analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and systems skills.
• Understanding of software development principles, data structures, APIs, integrations, and system architecture.
• Experience with Power Automate, Microsoft Copilot, M365 technologies, and basic AI, machine learning, LLM, and prompt engineering concepts.

Nice to have

• Experience as a Product Manager, Operations Manager, Customs Brokerage Manager, Ocean Import Manager, Air Import Manager, or Order Management Manager.
• Licensed Customs Broker credentials or strong customs brokerage compliance experience.
• Experience with customer implementations, RFQs, QBRs, analytics, scorecards, operational data, and cross-product team development.
• Experience developing automations, applications, or digital solutions and leading cross-functional projects.
• Certifications in Microsoft Power Platform, Azure AI, Microsoft Copilot, or related technologies.
