Process Controls Specialist (Refinery)

Location: El Paso, Texas, United States; onsite at the El Paso Refinery

What you will do

• Design, implement, maintain, and optimize process control strategies for unit performance, reliability, and safe refinery operations.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and industrial control system issues.
• Maintain and upgrade Honeywell Experion PKS and TDC 3000 DCS platforms.
• Support Triconex SIS and Rockwell Automation PLCs, including logic modifications and testing.
• Develop control narratives, logic diagrams, operator graphics, HMIs, and system documentation.
• Manage controls-related projects, vendor coordination, commissioning, on-call coverage, and outage or turnaround support.

Requirements

• Associate's degree in Electrical or Instrument Technology, or a high school diploma/GED with five years of relevant experience; engineering bachelor's degrees are also considered.
• At least two years of experience with industrial control systems.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Ability to collaborate with operations, engineering, and maintenance teams and maintain relationships with console operators.

Nice to have

• Proficiency with Honeywell Experion and TDC 3000.
• Previous refining process controls experience.
