Process Controls Engineer (DCS/PLC)

Location: Hybrid role based in Texas City, Texas, with consideration for other locations. Approximately 5% travel outside the Houston region may be required.

What you will do

• Provide process control systems engineering support for production assets including steam methane reforming, air separation, steam turbine, utilities, and ammonia production.
• Support daily operation, modification, and optimization of DCS, SIS, and PLC automation systems.
• Plan control system lifecycles, including programming, preventive maintenance, upgrades, and obsolescence management.
• Conduct root cause analyses and implement improvements to safety, operability, reliability, cybersecurity, and cost efficiency.
• Modify control logic, HMI, and databases while maintaining accurate technical documentation.
• Collaborate with process controls engineers, process engineers, area managers, site supervisors, technicians, vendors, and operating staff.

Requirements

• Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
• 3+ years of experience with process automation systems and/or instrumentation engineering.
• Hands-on knowledge of DCS and PLC control systems.
• Knowledge of field instrumentation, including valves and transmitters, and level, temperature, pressure, and flow measurement.
• Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and access to a reliable personal vehicle are required.
• Must be legally eligible to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Experience with Siemens PCS7.
• Understanding of computer networks and industrial control system cybersecurity.
• Knowledge of Safety Instrumented Systems in relation to mechanical integrity.
• Strong communication, presentation, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
