Process Controls Engineer (Gas Compressors)

Location: San Diego, California, United States; onsite five days a week. Up to 30% domestic and international business travel is required. Domestic relocation assistance may be available.

Salary: $128,470–$171,00.00 per year

What you will do

• Develop and document control strategies for balance of plant equipment and compressor systems.
• Develop compressor anti-surge valve sizing and system design specifications.
• Design RSLogix PLC software and Windows-based HMI screens for balance of plant equipment.
• Lead balance of plant design reviews with cross-functional engineering teams.
• Provide technical expertise during customer meetings, design reviews, and HAZOP discussions.
• Collaborate with Business Development, Business Management, customers, and project design engineering teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• At least seven years of experience with turbomachinery and centrifugal compressors.
• Ability to quickly master complex systems and tools and communicate technical requirements clearly to customers and stakeholders.
• Understanding of PLC programming in RSLogix and Windows-based HMI systems.
• Knowledge of compressor applications in the oil and gas industry, process control systems, balance of plant equipment, and yard valve control programming.
• Experience interpreting electrical schematics and P&IDs, testing software, and functional specifications for balance of plant equipment.

Nice to have

• Field experience and direct experience working with customers.
• Experience with customer applications utilizing turbomachinery.
