I&E; Technician (George West/Laredo, TX)

Location: Onsite in Victoria, George West, or Laredo, Texas; must reside within a one-hour radius of Laredo or George West.

What you will do

• Maintain, inspect, calibrate, troubleshoot, and repair instrumentation, control, analytical, and electrical systems at amine plants and compressor stations.
• Work with PLCs, HMIs, gas measurement meters, transmitters, valves, control elements, safety shutdown systems, and emergency shutdown systems.
• Maintain grounding systems, communications systems, programmable logic controllers, and preventive maintenance programs.
• Participate in P&ID, cause-and-effect, and control-system planning and provide oversight of onsite contractors.
• Maintain service records, maintenance reports, inspections, checklists, spare-parts inventory, and process-safety documentation.
• Respond to rotating on-call schedules and emergency call-outs, drive to work sites, and perform field maintenance in physically demanding conditions.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least two years of experience with instrumentation and electrical components related to amine plants, compressor stations, gas measurement, and burner management systems.
• Knowledge of 4–20 mA controls, transmitters, industrial electrical systems, 480 VAC three-phase power, motors, and power distribution equipment.
• Experience with Allen-Bradley/Rockwell PLC and HMI platforms, including SLC 500, CompactLogix, ControlLogix, PanelView, and FactoryTalk View Studio.
• Valid driver's license, satisfactory driving record, and ability to reside within a one-hour radius of Laredo or George West, Texas.
• Good oral and written English communication skills; successful completion of required training, qualification tests, background check, and drug screen.

Nice to have

• Two-year associate degree or four-year degree in a technical field.
• Experience in the petroleum, chemical processing, power generation, or natural gas industries.
• Knowledge of process controls, gas processing, flammable gases and liquids, high-pressure systems, and Process Safety Management facilities.
• Experience with Sigma Thermal, Profire, or Bryan Boilers and burner management systems.
