Software Quality Engineer I - III (DOE)

Location: Hybrid, 3 days per week in the office in Burlington, Renton, Spokane, Vancouver, Portland, Medford, Salt Lake City, Boise, Lewiston, or Fargo. Candidates must reside within commuting distance of one of these offices or be willing to relocate.

Annual salary ranges vary by level and location: $60,000–$109,000 expected hiring range across the listed regions; additional full salary ranges and bonus targets apply by level and state.

What you will do

• Participate in agile project scrum teams and defect triage while managing an individual work backlog.
• Review user stories, acceptance criteria, specifications, software designs, code, and tests against quality standards.
• Develop, automate, and execute unit, component, integration, and system-level tests using industry-standard methods.
• Write manual and automated test cases, report defects, verify fixes, and recommend regression testing after changes.
• Improve software testability, test coverage, maintainability, reliability, and automated test stability; mentor team members as applicable.
• Use quality metrics to monitor testing progress, drive process effectiveness, mitigate risks, and lead assigned process improvements.

Requirements

• BA/BS degree in computer science or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language, such as Java, Ruby, Python, or C#.
• Software Quality Engineer II: 3 years of software quality and testing experience, including 1 year writing, running, and automating tests.
• Software Quality Engineer III: 6 years of software quality and testing experience, including 3 years writing, running, and automating tests.
• Experience with web, mobile, and database application technologies, automated testing frameworks and tools, software reliability, static analysis, or code coverage.
• Experience with TDD/ATDD, continuous integration, design for testability, software stability, agile practices, and cross-team collaboration.
