TL;DR
Engineering Technician (Aerospace) (electronic, mechanical, and optical systems): Conducting advanced assembly, troubleshooting, calibration, and testing of aerospace and ISR equipment with an accent on technical diagnostics, test-result analysis, and collaboration with engineers. Focus on repairing complex systems, documenting maintenance activities, mentoring technician personnel, and maintaining safety and industry standards.

Location: Sparks, Nevada, United States; onsite

What you will do

  • Assemble and construct electronic, mechanical, and optical systems.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, and test equipment using laboratory and measurement tools.
  • Document and analyze test results and maintenance activities.
  • Collaborate with engineers to solve technical challenges.
  • Train and mentor Engineering Technician I personnel.
  • Follow safety protocols and applicable industry standards.

Requirements

  • Currently serving on active duty and eligible for the DoD SkillBridge program.
  • Associate's degree in a related field and at least 1 year of technician or related experience; 3 years of related experience may substitute for the degree.
  • Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings, diagrams, schematics, and manuals.
  • Experience using laboratory test equipment, measurement equipment, hand tools, and power tools.
  • Proficiency troubleshooting electronic, mechanical, or optical systems.
  • U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. security clearance are required.

Nice to have

  • Aerospace and defense experience or relevant certifications.
  • Manufacturing experience.
  • AutoCAD or other 3-D CAD software experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related technical field.
  • Supervisory, training, calibration, or testing-equipment experience.
