TL;DR
Engineering Technician III-Instrumentation (electronics and test instrumentation): Supporting range instrumentation operations, including planning, setup, installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and test data collection with an accent on military hardware testing and instrumentation accuracy. Focus on operating oscilloscopes and transient recorders, interpreting electrical and mechanical drawings, and supporting test missions across DoD ranges.

Location: Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama, United States. Full-time onsite role with travel as needed, including CONUS travel to other DoD test ranges.

What you will do

  • Support instrumentation operations around test stands and fixtures.
  • Plan, set up, install, troubleshoot, and maintain range instrumentation as part of a technical team.
  • Monitor test operations and collect and evaluate data for accuracy.
  • Maintain instrumentation databases and support senior engineers and technicians during test operations.
  • Support local and CONUS test-range missions for DoD hardware testing.
  • Operate oscilloscopes and transient recorders, read schematics and mechanical/electrical drawings, and handle explosives.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen and have or be able to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance.
  • At least five years of applicable experience supporting engineering or hardware testing, or the stated combination of education and experience.
  • At least 16 weeks of civilian or military training in electronics or basic instrumentation techniques.
  • At least two years of electronics or instrumentation experience supporting engineering or testing of military hardware.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
