Billing Specialist II (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Prepare and submit Cost, Time & Material, Firm Fixed Price, milestone, progress payment, and performance-based invoices.
• Validate billed costs against contractual requirements, project cost reports, and general ledger data.
• Support accounts receivable reconciliations, cash application, and collection activities on aged receivables.
• Prepare audit-ready invoice packages and maintain billing archives, matrices, schedules, and project setup records.
• Collaborate with Contracts, Program Management, Pricing, Accounting, and Program Support on billing setup, modifications, closeout, and discrepancy resolution.
• Contribute to billing process improvements and system enhancements.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience; three years of related experience may substitute for the degree.
• At least one year of relevant accounts receivable or accounting experience, including AR and billing.
• Experience with accounting software and ERP systems, including billing, GL and project ledger interactions, reporting, and project setup.
• Experience preparing detailed invoice packages, supporting audits, and producing audit-ready documentation.
• Knowledge of billing requirements, cost principles, compliance frameworks, accounting principles, and financial analysis.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual, or eligible to obtain required U.S. government authorizations.

Nice to have

• Experience in aerospace and defense, multi-line-item contract billing, progress payment submissions, indirect rate adjustments, or contract financial operations.
• Experience with revenue recognition, project lifecycle processes, electronic invoice submission platforms, reporting tools, contract lifecycle systems, or data warehouses.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
