Billing Specialist (Electric Utility)

What you will do

• Manage invoicing, payment processing, account reconciliation, and other billing activities.
• Resolve billing discrepancies and respond to customer inquiries with internal teams.
• Audit billing records to identify and correct errors while maintaining compliance with applicable standards.
• Prepare reports and analysis to monitor billing performance and identify improvement opportunities.
• Track industry trends and regulations and support updates to billing policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Experience in billing, accounts receivable, or related financial roles is preferred.
• Proficiency with billing software and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Strong analytical, communication, interpersonal, and customer-service skills.
• High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
• Ability to perform prolonged periods of sitting and regular keyboard, telephone, standing, walking, and reaching activities.

Nice to have

• Certified Billing and Coding Specialist certification.
• Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
