TL;DR
Program Manager (Aerospace): Leading cross-functional aerospace product development programs from customer proposal through qualification, certification, and transition to production with an accent on customer interface, schedule management, cost control, and manufacturable design. Focus on coordinating engineering, operations, and supply chain teams, managing program risks and changes, and delivering milestones within recurring and non-recurring cost targets.

Location: Chandler, Arizona, United States; standard office environment with manufacturing operations and up to 10% travel.

Crane Aerospace & Electronics supplies critical systems and components for aerospace and defense markets, including satellites, aircraft, missiles, and unmanned aerial systems.

What you will do

  • Lead cross-functional business, technical, and operations teams throughout aerospace product development programs.
  • Review customer proposals and change requests, leading bid package elements and ensuring technical, cost, and schedule compliance.
  • Develop and maintain program plans, schedules, resource requirements, and milestone tracking.
  • Coordinate Integrated Product Teams across engineering, operations, and supply chain to support manufacturable designs and new product introduction.
  • Act as the primary customer interface for progress reviews, scope management, and formal change control.
  • Manage program costs, schedules, risks, issues, metrics, and the transition from development to production.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of experience in program management or a related project management role.
  • Proficiency in program management processes and sufficient technical aptitude to understand design and production processes.
  • Demonstrated leadership, planning, decision-making, teamwork, customer service, and business acumen skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project and other PC-based office tools.
  • A BS degree in engineering or another technical discipline.
  • Where controlled data or information access is required, only US Persons will be considered; eligibility for access to classified information may be required.

Nice to have

  • Technical experience, preferably in aerospace.
  • MBA or comparable advanced management degree.
  • Formal program or systems management training, such as PMI or equivalent.
  • Experience with engineering product development and certification processes.
