Operations Buyer Direct Level III (Life Sciences)

Location: Houston, Texas, USA; fully site-based. Relocation assistance is available for eligible candidates and their families.

What you will do

• Monitor supplier performance and provide feedback to strategic buyers and category managers.
• Coordinate supplier changes, material and vendor master data, and outline agreements in SAP.
• Manage vendor escalations involving delivery confirmations, MRP-driven schedule changes, purchase order confirmations, pricing, shipping, and invoice issues.
• Drive improvements in on-time delivery, quality conformance, compliance, and vendor returns.
• Lead competitive bids, RFx market interventions, and negotiations for low-value supplier contracts.
• Train and supervise new joiners and junior colleagues while collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, engineering, procurement, or supply chain preferred.
• 5–10 years of experience in supply chain manufacturing operations.
• Experience with SAP material management and operational procurement of direct raw materials.
• Substantial experience purchasing raw materials for laboratories.
• Ability to manage priorities, influence suppliers, and achieve effective purchasing outcomes.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Office; APICS or an equivalent MRP Planner certificate is beneficial.
