Buyer I - Raw Materials and Supply Chain (Manufacturing)

Location: Onsite in Allentown, Pennsylvania, United States

Salary: $68,700–$78,700 per year

What you will do

• Manage a portfolio of purchased raw materials and monitor inventory levels.
• Review demand requirements and issue purchase orders to domestic suppliers.
• Track supplier delivery schedules and performance.
• Analyze supplier quotations and recommend sourcing decisions.
• Support supplier negotiations, contracts, purchasing records, and reporting.
• Collaborate with Production, Planning, Engineering, Quality, Sales, Marketing, and suppliers on business needs and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Associate’s or technical degree required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 0–2 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or a related field.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team, prioritize multiple tasks, and maintain regular, predictable attendance.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Understanding of purchasing, supply chain, inventory management, supplier performance, and basic negotiation processes.

Nice to have

• Experience in manufacturing, healthcare, pharmaceutical, medical device, or another regulated industry.
• APICS, ISM, or another supply chain certification.
• Experience working directly with suppliers and inventory management systems.
