Senior Software Engineer (Hybrid) - 27722

Location: San Antonio, Texas; hybrid work with an average of two days per week in the San Antonio office.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and implement complex software capabilities for computer-based systems.
• Build and maintain Java-based software using modern frameworks and libraries.
• Design enterprise APIs, RESTful web services, and microservices architectures.
• Build and maintain Kubernetes deployments using Helm and Flux.
• Troubleshoot software issues, test solutions, and deliver work across multiple deadlines.
• Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and team leadership while remaining hands-on.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship is required; a position-appropriate U.S. government security clearance is required by the federal contract, with Secret or TS clearance considered.
• At least 9 years of software engineering experience with modern Java frameworks and libraries plus a related bachelor's degree, or an equivalent education and experience combination.
• Strong Java development experience and knowledge of Spring or Guava.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Helm, Flux, enterprise APIs, RESTful web services, microservices, Linux, and configuration management tools such as Git, Nexus, or Maven.
• Experience with the agile software lifecycle and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Ability to work in a hybrid environment, averaging two days per week in the San Antonio office, is required.

Nice to have

• Cloud experience with AWS or Azure.
• Experience creating Kubernetes operators and custom CRDs.
• Experience with Go, Python, scripting, CI/CD pipelines, distributed or NoSQL databases, and search engines such as Elasticsearch, MongoDB, or Solr.
• Familiarity with big data platforms and tools such as Jira, Confluence, or GitHub Enterprise.
