GIS Engineer (TS/SCI)

Location: Onsite in Herndon, VA or St. Louis, MO; work 90% or as needed in a SCIF with on-call or after-hours onsite support.

Salary: $116,000–$154,000–$169,400 annually for the Washington, DC metropolitan area; other states use location-based market ranges.

What you will do

• Design, deploy, and manage Kubernetes and Red Hat OpenShift clusters across cloud and on-premise environments.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for containerized application delivery.
• Implement infrastructure as code, platform tooling, automation, and self-service capabilities.
• Monitor performance, availability, and security; respond to incidents and optimize platform reliability.
• Collaborate with development, security, operations, and SAFe Agile teams to improve platform usability and governance compliance.

Requirements

• U.S. Person status and U.S. citizenship are required; permanent residents, Asylees, and Refugees may qualify under the stated eligibility definition.
• An active U.S. Government TS/SCI clearance with CI poly is required, or willingness to obtain a CI poly.
• At least four years of professional experience in a technical support role.
• Professional experience with DevSecOps, Kubernetes in production, Red Hat OpenShift, and container technologies such as Docker or CRI-O.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI, plus open-source and custom application deployment and maintenance.
• Technical degree or equivalent experience, strong communication skills, and ability to work with geographically distributed operations and development teams.

Nice to have

• Strong scripting or programming skills in Python, Bash, or Go.
• Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or GCP; networking, security, Linux administration, and hybrid or multi-cloud architectures.
• Kubernetes certifications such as CKA, CKAD, or CKS, and familiarity with OPA or Kyverno.
• Background in SRE, geospatial technologies, military or intelligence systems, or IC PED systems.
• CompTIA Security+ or a comparable certification.
