DevOps Engineer (AWS)

Location: On-site in Augusta, GA, United States, on the customer site 5 days per week, full-time, 40 hours per week. U.S. citizenship and a current TS/SCI with CI Polygraph-level U.S. Government security clearance are required.

Salary: $100,173–$140,000 per year. The role also includes a $20,000 sign-on bonus.

What you will do

• Support development and deployment of AWS cloud infrastructure and non-cloud edge infrastructure for on-premise and portable equipment.
• Automate deployment processes and ensure service reliability, scalability, high availability, and performance.
• Manage and maintain Kubernetes containers and AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Collaborate with development teams to integrate applications into the infrastructure.
• Monitor and troubleshoot production systems, resolve complex issues, and continuously improve infrastructure tools and processes.
• Stay current with technologies and industry trends and explore improvements to the infrastructure.

Requirements

• Current TS/SCI with CI Polygraph-level U.S. Government security clearance and U.S. citizenship.
• 5+ years of DevOps Engineering or Software Development experience with a bachelor’s degree in a related field; or 3 years of relevant experience with a master’s degree; or a high school diploma or equivalent with 9 years of relevant experience.
• Strong knowledge of Linux system administration and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency with configuration management tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
• Knowledge of AWS services including EC2, EBS, S3, and Lambda, and their use in infrastructure deployment and management.
• Experience with application and operating system deployment, scaling, and management.
• Ability to develop in multiple programming languages such as Python, Bash, or Go.
• Familiarity with Git, Flux, and other development tools; understanding of Agile software development methodologies and standard software development tool suites.
• Excellent problem-solving, oral communication, and written communication skills.
• DoD 8140 / 8570 compliance certification, such as Security+, or the ability to obtain it before starting.
• Ability to work full-time on the customer site in Augusta, GA, 5 days per week, with flexibility to adapt to schedule changes.

Nice to have

• Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Hive, Drill, Impala, Trino, or Presto.
• Experience with EKS, Diode, CI/CD, and Terraform.
• Prior experience with or familiarity with big data platforms or data lake architectures.
