Account Executive Officer/Sr. Underwriter, National Property

Location: Hartford, Connecticut, United States; regular in-person meetings with agents and brokers and travel are required.

Annual base salary: $120,400–$198,700, plus eligibility for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What you will do

• Manage the profitability, growth, and retention of an assigned book of National Property business.
• Underwrite and negotiate complex customer accounts, occasionally procuring reinsurance to support underwriting.
• Support foreign admitted policies and provide expertise on global underwriting capabilities.
• Build relationships with internal partners, agents, and brokers to develop sales plans and cross-selling opportunities.
• Identify new business, market and sell insurance products, and execute agency and regional sales plans.
• Support training and mentoring for less experienced Account Executives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Six to eight years of relevant underwriting experience, including National Property experience.
• At least four years of experience in underwriting, claims, operations, risk assessment, actuarial, sales, product, or finance.
• Deep knowledge of property products, regulatory requirements, and the local insurance market.
• Strong financial acumen, critical thinking, communication, and negotiation skills.
• CPCU designation.
