Underwriter IV - Property

Location: Dallas, Texas, United States; requires travel for client, carrier, and educational meetings, including approximately 20% travel.

What you will do

• Underwrite and analyze new and renewal property accounts involving complex risks.
• Assess exposures and determine appropriate pricing, coverage, limits, attachment points, and policy terms.
• Complete policies through coverage recommendations, binding, invoicing, policy issuance, and endorsement rating.
• Interpret catastrophe modeling data from RMS and AIR and evaluate additional risk assessment information.
• Negotiate with brokers and maintain relationships with agencies, carriers, and clients to support profitable business production.
• Establish underwriting procedures, recommend authority levels and program enhancements, report to management, and coach underwriting team members.

Requirements

• 7+ years of underwriting experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Property & Casualty and/or appropriate business licensure for direct client service and underwriting.
• Broad and deep knowledge of insurance markets, underwriting appetite, risk factors, and state insurance department compliance.
• Strong negotiation, mathematical, written, verbal, interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and company systems, with attention to detail and accuracy.
