Team Leader - Property Underwriting, Southeast - CorSo

Location: Alpharetta, Georgia, US (Atlanta Metro Area). Hybrid work model with an expectation to be in the office at least three days per week.

Estimated base salary: $156,000–$234,000 per year, with total compensation also considering incentives and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead and oversee Property Underwriters supporting General Property business across the Southeast Region.
• Manage and underwrite complex, large corporate property accounts while driving portfolio profitability.
• Coach, mentor, recruit, and retain underwriting talent while fostering an inclusive, high-performing team culture.
• Build relationships with regional brokers and clients to support business development, growth, and retention.
• Collaborate with actuarial, claims, and risk engineering teams on underwriting and portfolio management.
• Monitor portfolio performance, maintain governance and compliance, and contribute market insights to regional strategy.

Requirements

• 10+ years of Property underwriting experience with complex, large corporate property placements and portfolios.
• Deep expertise in General Property underwriting, including risk assessment, pricing, coverage analysis, and portfolio management.
• Proven leadership and people management experience, including recruiting, mentoring, and developing underwriters.
• Strong broker and client relationships within the Southeast US market.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience; relevant designations such as CPCU or AU are an asset.

Nice to have

• Experience in reinsurance or global specialty insurance.
• Familiarity with catastrophe modeling and exposure management for wind, flood, and convective storm risks.
• Experience with regional business strategy, senior-level presentations, and negotiations.
• Experience fostering diverse, inclusive, and psychologically safe teams.
• Proficiency with underwriting platforms, data analytics tools, and professional insurance networks.
