What you will do

• Supervise, monitor, operate, and maintain HVAC, refrigeration, building automation, and related facility equipment across the campus.
• Lead preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, adjustments, calibration, and testing while maintaining accurate system and work records.
• Review designs and provide recommendations and oversight for facility modifications, additions, and expansions.
• Coordinate with departmental teams and serve as a liaison for facilities operations and maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with institutional procedures and federal, state, and local safety and regulatory requirements.
• Train and guide team members on complex activities, address escalations, and deliver responsive service to internal customers.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED and successful completion of a refrigeration training program or equivalent.
• At least 6 years of A/C refrigeration experience in a hospital or related environment.
• Experience with mechanical equipment and facility operations, including pumps, gearboxes, motors, refrigerators, HVAC, steam, chilled water, compressed gases, and heat exchangers.
• Proficiency with building automation systems such as Metasys and computer maintenance management systems (CMMS), plus basic proficiency with Microsoft software.
• EPA Refrigerant Recovery Certification required.
• Refrigeration Engineer First Class and Steam Engineer First Class licenses from the Memphis and Shelby County Office of Construction Code Enforcement required.
