HVAC Mechanic (HVAC/R)

Location: Onsite at 8560 Progress Dr, Frederick, Maryland, USA; work is performed indoors and outdoors, including scheduled off-hour support and an on-call rotation.

Salary: $65,500–$96,407 USD annual full-time equivalent.

What you will do

• Install, operate, maintain, and repair HVAC/R systems, including heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, pumps, chillers, cooling towers, and humidification systems.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, inspect equipment for deficiencies, and implement corrective actions.
• Lead and coordinate HVAC/R maintenance and repair projects without direct supervisory authority.
• Develop scopes of work and coordinate activities with colleagues, contractors, and clients.
• Maintain service documentation and ensure compliance with applicable safety regulations and facility codes.
• Provide emergency, weather-related, off-hour, and scheduled on-call operational support.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; foreign degrees must be evaluated for U.S. equivalency.
• At least two years of relevant HVAC/R experience.
• EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification.
• Knowledge of HVAC/R systems, electrical controls, and mechanical equipment, with the ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
• Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance; the safety-sensitive role includes random drug testing.

Nice to have

• Maryland HVAC/R Journeyman License.
• Experience with Schneider EcoStruxure Building Automation System or Maximo CMMS.
• Certification in building automation, HVAC/R controls, or related systems.
