Facilities HVAC/Refrigeration Maintenance Tech III

Location: Onsite at the Normandale campus in Bloomington and Edina, United States. A-shift: Monday–Wednesday and every other Thursday, 6:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. No travel.

Salary: $29.95–$38.93 per hour.

What you will do

• Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, repairs, and installations for heating and air-conditioning equipment, including MAUs, RTUs, FCUs, boilers, pumps, and motors.
• Maintain and repair AHUs, VAVs, supply fans, exhaust systems, and air scrubbers.
• Operate and service building chillers and production refrigeration equipment, including compressors, fans, coils, and piping.
• Use Johnson Controls/Westinghouse building control systems to monitor faults, troubleshoot alarms, and respond to equipment failures, spills, and leaks.
• Complete service requests and preventative maintenance records in the computerized maintenance management system and perform minor plumbing repairs.
• Coordinate assigned work with leads, managers, project managers, engineers, contractors, and other site personnel while supporting the Emergency Response Team.

Requirements

• HVAC certification with at least two years of industrial HVAC operation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance experience, or equivalent formal apprenticeship training.
• CFC certification.
• Boiler license or willingness to obtain one within six months.
• Ability to work independently, at heights, on 12-hour shifts, and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to distinguish between low and high voltage, respond to emergencies, and work occasional overtime and holidays.
• Strong organization, documentation, attention to detail, communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Johnson Controls or GE Controls.
• Experience with CMMS and Microsoft Office.
• Associate degree or technical college education in HVAC.
