Preventative Maintenance Technician (HVAC/Refrigeration)

What you will do

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on HVAC and refrigeration systems, including ductwork modifications and refrigerant handling.
• Complete plumbing, electrical, appliance, insulation, and other facility maintenance work.
• Process work orders and preventive maintenance tasks accurately and on schedule.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems, implement effective repairs, and help minimize system downtime.
• Support pest control, cleaning, minor repairs, and other facility needs.
• Collaborate with managers and supervisors while maintaining clear operational documentation and communication.

Requirements

• Academic training in refrigeration, electricity, and/or plumbing.
• Four years of professional experience with refrigeration, mechanical, and electrical systems.
• Valid HVAC/refrigeration license, professional association membership, and air-conditioning and refrigeration certification required.
• Knowledge of refrigeration, air conditioning, electrical safety, piping, rotating machinery, motors, and basic plumbing.
• Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, equipment specifications, and schematic diagrams; troubleshoot complex systems; and use CMMS for work orders and inventory.
• Valid state driver's license, acceptable driving record, and Puerto Rico Law 300 certification required. Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in environments with fumes, odors, noise, and adverse weather conditions.
