Refrigeration & Air Condition Mechanic (HVAC)

Location: Cottage Grove, Minnesota, United States; onsite role

What you will do

• Install, modify, move, troubleshoot, repair, decommission, calibrate, and adjust HVAC, refrigeration, and climate-control systems.
• Maintain equipment including chillers, compressors, cooling towers, pumps, fans, heat exchangers, thermostats, humidistats, and related controls.
• Operate and troubleshoot building automation systems using trending and alarming functions.
• Apply PLC and DDC fundamentals to repair HVAC equipment and diagnose malfunctions.
• Test and treat cooling tower, chilled-water, and radiant-heat circulation systems, including chemical injection systems.
• Read engineering drawings, blueprints, process diagrams, equipment manuals, and vendor documentation; use precision testing instruments.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of industrial HVAC/R experience or five years of residential HVAC/R experience.
• A two-year accredited HVAC/R technical degree or diploma, or at least five years of industrial HVAC/R experience.
• Universal CFC Management Certification.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employment visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Basic mathematics and computer skills.
• Knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, and electromechanical temperature, humidity, and airflow controls.
• Knowledge of local piping codes and CFC documentation requirements.
• Experience using hand tools, machine tools, testing equipment, and measurement instruments.
