TL;DR
Sensor Payload Operator/Technician (AIS/Radar/EO/IR): Conducting maritime surveillance missions from manned King Air aircraft across the Western and Central Pacific with an accent on detecting, identifying, and reporting maritime targets. Focus on operating multiple airborne sensors, troubleshooting and maintaining sensor payload systems, and producing detailed mission and equipment reports.

Location: BPC Site 1; rotational assignments of three months or longer, with travel for deployments lasting up to three months.

What you will do

  • Operate AIS, radar, and EO/IR gimbal sensors during maritime surveillance missions from civilian-registered King Air aircraft.
  • Detect, locate, identify, and report intelligence on maritime targets while maintaining real-time communication with crew and ground personnel.
  • Prepare mission observation reports and post-mission equipment performance reports.
  • Perform testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of airborne sensor payload systems according to maintenance SOPs and OEM guidelines.
  • Support ISR Systems Engineers, sensor integration activities, and capability briefings for local officials.

Requirements

  • At least four years of relevant military training, qualification, and operational experience.
  • Operational experience with new technology and simultaneous control of AIS, radar, and EO/IR gimbals.
  • Valid US Passport through all deployment periods.
  • Ability to maintain the physical conditioning required for lifting, prolonged standing, endurance activities, and other mission-critical tasks.
  • Ability to travel with reasonable notice for assignments lasting up to three months.
  • English proficiency sufficient for safety protocols, team coordination, reporting, and operational communication.

Nice to have

  • Experience in combined overland and overwater surveillance and international operations.
  • Technical knowledge and practical experience in operational or developmental testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of airborne sensor payload systems.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with tasking authorities, local officials, customer representatives, and crew members.
  • Professional references.
