AN/SPQ 9B Radar Field Technician

Location: San Diego, California, United States; travel on short notice to US and overseas locations may be required.

What you will do

• Provide technical support to the In-Service Engineering Agent for the AN/SPQ-9B radar.
• Install and evaluate field changes, upgrades, and modifications to radar systems.
• Support maintenance, troubleshooting, fleet CASREPs, and technical assistance requests, including distance support.
• Develop and update technical documentation, maintenance procedures, Ship Installation Drawings, and Ship Alteration Records.
• Perform post-installation System Operational Verification Testing and train ship's force personnel.
• Document onboard maintenance, troubleshooting, testing, and problem-resolution results.

Requirements

• Active Secret clearance is required.
• Practical experience maintaining, repairing, operating, testing, and troubleshooting Navy radar systems, including the AN/SPQ-9B.
• Experience with technical documentation, preventive maintenance, parts support, technical reports, training, and maintenance records.
• Experience with underway testing and evaluation of Navy radar systems.
• Familiarity with shipboard safety procedures, electrical tag-outs, working aloft, hazardous materials, and PPE.
• Working knowledge of Change Requests, Engineering Change Proposals, Navy logistics support, configuration management, onboard allowance, and supply support; a passport must be held and maintained for travel.
