Electrical Engineering Intern (Aerospace)

Compensation: $30–$40 per hour; housing and travel stipend may also be available.

What you will do

• Design spacecraft electronics PCBAs, including architecture, component selection, circuit board design, board bring-up, and debugging.
• Qualify designs through vibration, shock, thermal, and thermal-vacuum testing.
• Integrate electrical designs into spacecraft systems with internal and external stakeholders.
• Operate hardware in flight and collaborate with engineers, technicians, and other team members.
• Develop test equipment, development PCBAs, and test scripts.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree program in electrical or computer engineering.
• At least 6 months of technical engineering experience outside university classroom coursework, such as laboratory work, research, extracurricular projects, volunteering, personal projects, or prior internships.
• Must be a U.S. Person under ITAR or otherwise eligible for a federally issued export-control license.
• Three-month summer internship commitment.

Nice to have

• Experience designing multilayer PCBAs for high-speed digital applications.
• Experience with kilowatt-scale isolated power converters, analog control loops, load switches, motor inverters, EMI/EMC compliance, or sensor signal conditioning.
• Experience with digital processors, FPGAs, memory chips, or network switches.
• Proficiency with circuit simulation tools such as LTspice and programming in C, C++, Python, or MATLAB.
