What you will do

  • Own end-to-end development of power converters, power management circuits, and control circuits from architecture and requirements through production support.
  • Design schematics and PCB layouts for single converters, multi-output power supply modules, and power management circuitry.
  • Model and analyze analog and power electronics, including worst-case, stress, small-signal, stability, power-loss, efficiency, and power-integrity analysis.
  • Develop verification, integration, qualification, compliance, and production acceptance test plans.
  • Bring up and verify hardware, lead system integration and qualification campaigns, and release designs to production.
  • Mentor junior engineers, present design reviews, and research new technologies to drive innovation and intellectual property.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • At least six years of industry or university research experience in board-level power electronics design, analysis, and testing.
  • Experience owning power electronics or power subsystem design, including architecture, requirements, trade studies, component selection, and detailed design.
  • Experience performing or guiding complex PCB layout for analog and power electronics, with strong experience using laboratory equipment for prototyping and qualification testing.
  • Experience with simulation and analysis tools such as SPICE, LTSPICE, SIMetrix/SIMPLIS, PLECS, Simulink, MATLAB, or MathCAD.
  • Direct experience designing high-reliability electronics for automotive, space, or defense applications, including derating, worst-case analysis, and thermal constraints.

Nice to have

  • Experience delivering board designs to production and deployment.
  • Proficiency with Altium, OrCAD/Allegro, PADS/Xpedition, or similar PCB design tools.
  • Experience with Ansys SiWave, ADS SIPro, HyperLynx, or similar board-level power-integrity simulation tools.
  • Experience designing for space radiation environments.

Culture & Benefits

  • Hands-on, autonomous work in a cross-functional startup environment.
  • Work focused on high-reliability space and airborne applications with rigorous engineering standards.
  • Full-time employment includes company stock options.
  • Benefits include health, dental, vision, HSA, FSA, life, disability, and retirement plans.
