Senior Systems Administrator (AWS/Microsoft 365)

Location: On-site in Goleta, California, United States

Salary: $65,000–$85,000 per year, depending on education and experience.

What you will do

• Manage AWS environments and implement infrastructure-as-code with Terraform.
• Administer Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, and Intune for device and application security.
• Maintain and optimize Zscaler services, including ZIA, ZPA, and ZDX.
• Implement security policies, access controls, monitoring standards, and secure infrastructure practices.
• Maintain VMware vSphere 8 environments, including vCenter, ESXi, and Horizon View.
• Administer Windows Server roles and services, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, IIS, and BitLocker.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in systems administration or a similar role.
• 2+ years of experience with AWS, Microsoft 365 or Exchange, VMware, and Zscaler.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred in management information systems, mathematics, or engineering; additional degrees or certifications may substitute for experience.
• Security clearance required.

Nice to have

• AWS, Microsoft, VMware, or Zscaler certifications.
• Scripting and automation experience, especially with PowerShell or Python.
• Experience with enterprise hardware such as PowerEdge, SANs, or Unifi.
• Knowledge of CMMC, NIST 800-171, or C-SCRM frameworks.
• Experience tuning Defender, Horizon View, or IIS, with strong documentation and communication skills.
